FAQ
Are you still NETV? Are you still NPRN?
Our names have changed, but we are still the same organization that operates Nebraska’s statewide public television and public radio networks. However, you may not have known that our service to Nebraskans extends beyond public television and radio. We’ve changed our names to better reflect the number and variety of services that NET (say “N-E-T”) provides for the people of Nebraska. “NET” is our entity name. NET Television, NET Radio, NET Learning Services and NET Technology Services are descriptors of some of the many services we provide to the entire state. You can access information about all of our broadcast, distance-learning, digital technology and other services at one convenient website, netNebraska.org.
Are you still NPTV? Are you still PRNF?

NET Foundation for Television (formerly known as Nebraskans for Public Television or NPTV) is still the same non-profit fundraising foundation that provides financial support for the programming on NET Television (formerly the Nebraska ETV Network, NETV), Nebraska’s statewide public television network.

NET Foundation for Radio (formerly known as the Public Radio Nebraska Foundation or PRNF) is still the same non-profit fundraising foundation that provides financial support for the programming on NET Radio (formerly the Nebraska Public Radio Network, NPRN).
Why is my donation going to Des Moines, Iowa?
Due to budget constraints we have had to look for more efficient ways of processing our incoming contributions. We bank with Wells Fargo bank in Lincoln, and the only facility where the bank has equipment necessary to read microencoding is in Des Moines. A Foundation representative would be happy to answer your questions--call 800.634.6788.
Is my contribution tax deductible?
Contributions to the NET Foundations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. The relevant law states “to the extent that tangible personal benefits are not received in return.” This means that if you receive a Thank You gift for your contribution, you cannot claim the fair market value of the Thank You gift for tax purposes. Your allowable deduction would be the amount of your contribution minus the fair market value of your Thank You gift. Please call the Foundation Offices at 800.634.6788 if you have questions about tax deductibility.
When will I receive my Thank You gift?

It usually takes from four to six weeks for us to send out our Thank You gifts.

Can I give a gift membership?
Yes you can. The gift recipient will receive notification that a gift has been given to the NET Foundation for Radio or Television.
Do NET or the NET Foundations exchange my name?
It is our strict policy not to give out or exchange any information about our members.
Where is my NET Card?
You should receive your NET Card approximately 4 weeks after we receive your payment. If you have questions about, or have misplaced, your NET Card, please call the Foundation Offices at 800.634.6788.
I miss program guides like Choice or Networks.
Choice and Networks are no longer being produced due to the budget cuts that we’ve encountered. You can download a printable E-Guide of daily and weekly NET Television programming by clicking on “Television” in the menu bar above, and then click on “Printable E-Guide.”
