Drought Relief Sought
(01-09-03) As drought continues to plague Nebraska, farmers and ranchers are looking for relief on two fronts: Nebraska's congressional delegation is seeking federal disaster assistance, and farmers in Iowa and Pennsylvania are donating hundreds of tons of hay. Three semi loads were delivered to Trenton in southwest Nebraska earlier this week. For cattle producers the donations mean they won't have to sell their herds, at least not for the time being. Jason Frederick prepared this report.
