Longterm Insurance and Medicaid Cuts
(02-06-03) The cost of long-term care, such as in a nursing home, can be as high as 46-thousand dollars a year. Though Medicaid, taxpayers pay that cost for thousands of Nebraskans. Thursday, the Legislature's Revenue Committee considered a carrot and stick approach to cutting Medicaid costs by persuading more people to buy insurance for long-term care. Carolyn Johnsen has the story.
